What is Precision Machining

Precision machining is a type of CNC machining process that uses computer-controlled machine tools for parts production. It is a high-velocity machining process to make parts requiring tight tolerances, high complexity, or both. Precision machining may be done by a skilled precision machinist operator or even high-speed robotics.

It is a subtractive manufacturing process where the machine starts with a block and removes material from it with a cutting tool. Precision machining is frequently used for making an assortment of parts that fit and work together.
